“Our philosophy is likely more aggressive than other lawyers; We find that our success record for taking a case to trial actually helps us settle cases when that course of action is best for our client.”

Brian Flood

Attorney Brian M. Flood has dedicated his entire legal career to helping accident victims and serving his community. Brian was inspired by his father to become a lawyer and advocate for injured people. Throughout his legal career, Brian learned two truths: (1) the court system is difficult for injured people to successfully navigate; and (2) the best results are obtained by the best lawyers.

By choice, Brian has never represented the interests of an insurance company. He knows that the threat of a jury trial is what forces insurance companies to pay fair compensation to injured people. That is why Brian is prepared to try every case, even though most cases settle outside of court. Brian loves making insurance companies pay his clients what they deserve.  Brian has settled thousands of cases and tried approximately 200 cases to verdict since he began practicing law over 25 years ago. Brian was a partner at a personal litigation law firm before founding The Flood Law Firm with his brother, Christopher J. Flood. They both share the belief that without the right lawyer, insurance companies take advantage of people.

Brian is a leader in the legal community. He is a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association Board of Governors and Executive Committee.  He has been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as one of the “Top 50” lawyers in Connecticut. Brian is proud to have received the T. Paul Tremont Award in 2012, which recognized his tenacity fighting for injured people against insurance companies.

Brian grew up in Portland and still lives there today. He is actively involved in the community and served on the Portland Board of Selectmen for 12 years. Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
